Biography
Jesús Rodríguez Sánchez, Visiting research fellow
Jesús Rodríguez received his Master's Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from University of Málaga, Málaga, Spain, in 2007. His master thesis was on the subject of "Wavelets video compression for mobile communications". Afterwards he pursued a postgraduate Master in communication technologies in the same university, finishing in 2009 with the thesis project: "Mobile channels estimation for LTE".
He has worked for more than 10 years in industry as a Physiscal Layer engineer, modem design, and RTL Designer focused on diverse communication standards.
Jesús is currently a Ph.D. student at the department of Electrical and Information Technology (EIT) at Lund University, Sweden. He is conducting research in Wireless communication systems, especially Massive MIMO and Large Intelligent Surfaces (Beyond 5G / 6G): when number of antennas grows to hundreds or thousands, critical limitations appear from implementation point of view. His research aims to overcome these limitations by studying different trade-offs involving system architecture, performance, computational complexity, interconnection data-rate, memory, and latency, and proposing solutions which are hardware friendly and provide good performance.
