Abstract
Where can we use mm-wave technology in the future? Well 5G cellular communication is obvious although the short range is a problem for larger cells. Except for normal device-device communications the mm-wave technology may also present solutions for inter-server-, inter-backplane-, inter-component- and inter-chip-connectivity as well as in combinations of these. Radar-based detection and positioning is another field of application e.g to be used by robots, cars and more. Between 3,5 - 7 GHz of bandwidth is available for use in the 60 GHz-area depending on where in the world you plan to use it.
