PTZ Cameras are powered via the ethernet cable using PoE midspans. A PSU (power supply unit) is developed by AXIS which is controlled by discrete components. Using discrete components has an advantage regarding component availability. A dedicated circuit or software may give a more compact design and easier to control parameters. Some parts located on different potential domains and safety barriers may be difficult to integrate. These functions probably still need to be designed by discrete components. The Master Thesis will evaluate the possibility to use an FPGA or decide if a MCU with software is better for the application. The work will contain both practical and theoretical blocks.
