Mattias Borg, Associate Professor
Mattias Borg is Associate Professor in Nanoelectronics at Lund University. He obtained his PhD degree from Lund University in 2012. The same year he joined IBM Research – Zurich as a post-doctoral researcher where he stayed on as Research Staff Member until 2016, when he returned to Lund University. Borg pioneered antimonide-based nanowire synthesis during his PhD work, has been researching III-V-based tunnel field effect transistors both in Lund and at IBM. He is furthermore co-inventor of a novel method for CMOS-compatible III-V integration on Si, called Template-Assisted Selective Epitaxy and holds 5 patents. He is (co-) author of more than 70 papers, with h-index of 30.
His current research focus is on developing resistive and ferroelectric memory and memristive devices based on HfO2 thin films, and their integration with III-V semiconductors. Furthermore, he explores the ability of these devices to function as synapses in artificial neuromorphic systems.
