Doctoral Studies
The department offers doctoral studies in many disciplines. Doctoral studies at LTH require four years of studies. Since almost all PhD students are involved in undergraduate teaching, it usually takes five years to complete at PhD. During the studies, the candidate writes a doctoral thesis which is publically defended. Doctoral studies include both course work and active research. It is possible to take a Licentiate degree after two years of study. Observe that you cannot be admitted as a PhD student unless there is an open PhD position (see Open Positions to the left)! More information can be found if you follow the links to the left.
Information on the research at the department can be found under Research above.
