Master's thesis:
Abstract
Channel based security protocols such as SSL/TLS/DTLS have been the go-to solution for encryption and message integrity for a long time. With the coming of the Internet of Things, DTLS has been suggested as the standard solution for constrained devices. In this thesis, we explore the feasibility of a transition from Channel Security to Object Security for the REST protocol CoAP running on a constrained device. This is done using the novel RFC draft https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-selander-ace-object-security-04.
