Microwave theory 2015
Microwave technique and theory are very important for all applications where electromagnetic waves with frequencies above 100 MHz are used. We find these applications in radio communication, circuit design, optical systems and particle accelerators. There will be a visit to MAXlab and lectures by guests from ESS and MAXlab.
The course covers the basic theory of transmission lines, waveguides, cavity resonators and optical fibers. The examination is by assignments and a project.
Information
New information regarding the course is given below:
-March 23: The first assignement was handed out. You can download it here.
- April 5: At the computer session some problems were solved with COMSOL Multiphysics. You find the problems here
- April 5: The laboratory session will take place 13.15-17.00 May 3 and 8.15-12.00 May 4. You have to sign up for one of them. Go to Sign up in the menu. The laboratory is in the Radio lab which is located in the north end of the second floor. From 2517 you go as far as you can north and then you come to the lab.
April 10: In problem 3.9 in the book it says j360, but it should be -j360
April 19: We will visit MAX IV on Monday, May 16 at 13.15. I will give more information about this later.
