Course Information
Welcome to the home page for the course Modern Wireless Systems - 5G and Beyond. Here you will find information concerning everything that is contained in this course.
All parts of the course will be run mostly online: lectures, exercises, and laboratory sessions. However, we are thinking of holding a few of the sessions in a hybrid format. For this purpose, we will need to sort out formal questions such as how many people can sit in the rooms, how to list willing students, how to manage the numbers to don't exceed the required ones, etc.
In 2020, the course has been significantly reconsidered and evolved. There were three major changes: the course project and labs became compulsory, while the final exam turned into an optional choice. To earn 7.5 HP, students will need to pass the compulsory parts successfully. However, those who want to improve their marks to good or excellent will need to defend their knowledge orally after solving a home written exam.
The laboratory sessions will be Matlab-based where students will closely work with LTE Toolbox to strengthen their understanding of important concepts taught in the course. So, it is vital to have a proper university-supported Matlab license. If you do not have one, please do not hesitate to contact the course coordinator.
