DIGITAL PROJECT

LIGHT SOURCE TRACKING FOR A SOLAR CELL

Group 9   :   Tommaso Bresciani                E04             2005-12-09

In the course digital project a system for light tracking has been constructed.           It consists in a movable panel, which is able to rotate vertically and horizontally.   On this panel, a solar cell is mounted (a device which is able to transform the light into electric power). The highest efficiency is reached when the panel (with the solar cell) is pointing to strong light source. For doing that, some light sensors are also mounted on the panel and they will be able to give information about the position of the light source. A control board will elaborate the signals from the sensors and it will give a control sequence to two motors.

They are used for moving the panel in vertical and horizontal position.

Some buttons are added for give the possibility to move manually the panel and to choose some options. A LCD display is used for showing the position of the panel and other options. This course has helped to handle a project design and realization, solve problems and improve the programming knowledge.
