Research
Martin Hell, Associate Professor
My research is in the area of cryptology and computer security. My primary research interests are cryptography and software security.
As a PhD student, my current research focused on the design and cryptanalysis of stream ciphers. I am co-designer of the eSTREAM proposal Grain. Grain is a stream cipher for constrained environments, with focus on efficiency in hardware. There are several versions of Grain, with and without built-in authentication. The latest version is Grain-128AEAD which supports authentication with associated data.
