News
12 Apr 2013 - Ivaylo Vasilev presented his paper:
I. Vasilev, E. Foroozanfard, and B. K. Lau, "Adaptive impedance matching performance of MIMO terminals with different bandwidth and isolation properties in realistic user scenarios," in Proc. 7th Europ. Conf. Antennas Propag. (EuCAP'2013), Gothenburg, Sweden, Apr. 8-12, 2013.
at the 2013 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, as a finalist of the ESoA-EuCAP Young Scientist Award, chosen from over 180 student papers. Well done, Ivaylo!
2 Apr 2013 - Due to some unexpected delay in the adaptive matching circuit fabrication, we have requested for a 1-year extension of the project. The team still meets up regularly to discuss important technical issues (see below for a photo taken at the 2 Apr 2013 meeting).
7 Nov 2012 - The project leader Dr. Buon Kiong Lau and Mr. Ivaylo Vasilev attended the VINNOVA Annual Program Day. Dr. Lau presented in a short oral presentation. In addition, the team presented three posters, since there are a lot of results to show for the project, including the one below:

1 Sep 2012 - The project team is strengthened by the recruitment of a postdoctoral researcher Dr. Hui Li, who will assist in the project work as well as spearheading efforts on reconfigurable multi-antennas.
Aug 2012 -Another key paper of the project is now published:
V. Plicanic, H. Asplund, and B. K. Lau, "Performance of handheld MIMO terminals in noise‐ and interference‐limited urban macrocellular scenarios," IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol. 60, no. 8, pp. 3901‐3912, Aug. 2012.
The results show that significant performance gains can be achieved when the patterns of the multi-antennas can be harmonized to the property of the propagation channel.
10 Nov 2011 - The project leader Dr. Buon Kiong Lau and Mr. Ivaylo Vasilev attended the VINNOVA Annual Program Day, where the latest results of the project are presented in a short oral presentation and a poster.
25 Oct 2011 - A half-day Annual Lund-Sony Ericsson Project Meeting was held. A photo with most of the participants are attached below.
Aug 2011 - The submitted paper to Electronics Letters has been accepted and is now published:
V. Plicanic, I. Vasilev, R. Tian, and B. K. Lau, "On capacity maximisation of a handheld MIMO terminal with adaptive matching in an indoor environment," Electron. Lett., vol. 47, no. 16, pp. 900-901, Aug. 4, 2011.
Jun 2011 - A key project member, Ms Vanja Plicanic, has successfully defended her thesis, which is partly based on the topic of this project.
May 2011 - Preliminary results from our indoor measurement campaign on the study of adaptive matching involving a realistic multiband, multiple-antenna terminal and user interaction have been submitted to Electronics Letters.
Apr 2011 - Ms Vanja Plicanic presented a invited paper on the first project results in a convened session at the 5th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Rome, Italy, 11-15 Apr 2011.
Feb 2011 - The first journal paper of the project has been submitted to the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation.
12 Oct 2010 - A half-day kick-off meeting was held for the project. There were 12 participants altogether, and they were from from Lund University, Sony Ericsson, Ericsson Research, and Royal Institute of Technology.
Aug 2010 - Mr Ivaylo Vasilev arrives in Lund and begins his PhD study within this project.
April 2010 - Mr Ivaylo Vasilev has been successfully recruited as a PhD student for this project. Mr Vasilev impressed the selection committee with his track record in successfully performing research in different topics and earning the highest recommendations from his supervisors.
Feb 2010 - An open PhD position for this project is announced. A total of about 50 applicants applied.
