Biography
Jens A Andersson, Lecturer
Jens A Andersson is born 18th of June 1951, in Eksjö, Sweden. In 2016 he obtained his Licentiate in Engineering (Electrical Engineering), before that his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, LTH, Lund University. Since his retairement, he is called in as an extra hand every now and then.
His main expertise and experience is based on IP and multi protocol routing, network management and maintenance of, and also traffic engineering in, major IP-based networks.
From graduation until 1980 he held a position as System Developer at Capella Eurocom AB in Malmö. During 1980-1992 he worked as biomedical engineer at University Hospital MAS in Malmö (UMAS). 1991-1992 he was appointed project leader for purchasing and implementing UMAS campus network.
In 1992 he was appointed Senior Network Specialist at LDC, Lund University, a position he held until 2002. He was also during this time team leader for the networking group at LDC, and as such responsible for the management and maintenance of the Lund university campus network (LUNET). He was responsible for the implementation of the LUNET version SnabbLUNET, and was appointed senior team member in the project of designing and purchasing of LUNET version GigaLUNET.
After obtaining his engineering degree he has continued his formation in Advanced Internet building at The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and in Advanced Telecommunication at Lund University.
From 2010 until 2016 he performed doctoral studies in parallell with his teaching.
He retired 2018.
