Sammanfattning
Reconfigurable computing has recently received significant attention to suffice the ever increasing computational demands and flexibility requirements in modern wireless systems. Reconfigurable architecture reduces hardware requirements by sharing resources amongst multiple tasks or data streams. This thesis work focuses on the design and implementation of an application specific integrated-circuit vector processor along with processing elements housed in a reconfigurable cell array; to efficiently support fundamental baseband operations such as Fast Fourier Transforms, matrix based operations and QR decomposition. As a proof of concept, the implemented processor is evaluated using 65nm CMOS standard cells targeted to operate at a frequency of 300MHz and found to have a mean power consumption of 100mW.
