Sammanfattning
During the research and development for communication technologies, channel models are used to test and simulate different communication algorithms and methodologies. In the next generation wireless networks (e.g. LTE-Advanced and WiMAX) MIMO systems are expected to play an important role since ideally, they allow a linear increase in the channel capacity with the number of antennas at the transmitter and receiver, given that the MIMO channel has enough degrees of freedom. Thus, it is important to develop precise, yet simple, channel models for future technologies. Using the data from a measurement campaign carried out in Belgium, with a state-of-the-art channel sounder, large-scale and small-scale fading characteristics will be modeled. During the last stage of the work, it is expected to use the available data to parameterize the interference between MIMO channels using a novel MIMO interference model.
