Sammanfattning
The concept of the smart mirror is on the rise and more companies are turning their focus towards this object. The idea is to combine a computer and a mirror into an interactive communicative device that could be used in a variety of areas. The implementation for such a device can be everything from bathrooms in the modern home to an information channel for companies in the store area where costumers can browse the collections.

The object of this thesis is to investigate how well the concept of smart mirror fares against other devices that already are in the market. The focus will be on the coating material and how it affects the light levels that the screen can emit and the energy consumption which is a direct consequence of the dimmed screen. To do the test a prototype has to be built and programmed. Thereafter a sequence of energy and light emission tests can be conducted on the mirror to see what obstacles the concept have on the whole. This will allow future generations of the concept to face or sidestep these problems with the backed up data in this research.
