Welcome to the course in Network Architectures and Performance!
All course information will be in Canvas: https://canvas.education.lu.se/courses/9943
You get access to Canvas when you have registered to the course in Ladok.
The course will be online at least until Jan 31.
This year's course will be updated and changed compared to previous years. There will be less mathematical theory and more system design in the course from this year.
In this course, you will learn how to design and analyse networked systems. The course will include several modern and future network architecture technologies, system modelling and design of networked systems for different applications.
Some examples of network technologies are standards for ad hoc networks, sensor networks, cellular systems, time sensitive networks, satellite communication, and wireless networks.
Some examples of applications are self-driving vehicles, Industry 4.0, Internet of things, communication in space (such as Mars expeditions), delay tolerant applications (such as data collection in cattle farms or rural areas), and mission-critical applications (such as control over the cloud).
The course also includes theory on arrival processes, computing systems and communication.
The course theory will be focused on the project, in which project groups propose network technologies and protocols for a specific application.
There is NO text book this year! The course litterature will be based on scientific articles.
Welcome!
