VCO

The VCO is the main sound generator in a synthesizer. The designed VCO included options to create different waveforms in a wide frequency span, ranging from approximately 20Hz-4KHz. The different waveforms that are generated includes triangle, sine and square waves. The sine and square waves can further be adjusted in shape. The sine shape can be completely adjusted, and the square wave can have its Pulse Width (PW) changed manually and through a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) input.

LFO

The LFO signal is one of the main modulation signals used in synthesizers. In this project the LFO is a redesigned version of the VCO, adapted for lower frequencies.

VCF

The VCF is one of the most recognized synthesizer effects. In its most basic form it consists of a series of filters that can be controlled either manually or through a modulation input. In this project a Low Pass (LP), Band Pass (BP) and High Pass (HP) filter was designed. These filters were designed in a state variable voltage configuration and provides an adjustable cut off frequency as well as a resonance feedback.

VCA

The VCA is the main volume dynamic tool of a synthesizer. It provides the user the ability to create varying volumes per a modulation input or manual adjustment. In this project the VCA was designed to adjust the input volume either with a modulation source or manually. The resulting effect is then recognizable as tremolo or amplitude modulation.
