We wanted to develop an application which gathers information about outgoing telephone calls. This, because when we have all information about outgoing telephone calls, we are able to verify our telephone bill. No system we know of today supports this feature, you need to trust your telephone operator at this point.

Our project consists of five members. Because of that we divided our project in two parts. We have our constructed hardware/software application connected to the telephone jacket and the computer. The application senses which numbers are dialled, reacts when the receiver is connected and when the phone call is disconnected. Information is sent to the computer where it is stored in a database. The information concerns the number dialled, phone call time and date. Furthermore, based upon the number dialled, a name of the person/company is looked up on an Internet phone catalogue and stored together with the number in the database.

The collecting application is also able to communicate with a remote display application. The display application is able to send requests via the collecting application to the PC for records of our stored data. The data is then displayed on the LCD.
