The Department of EIT conducts high-quality research in a variety of areas in information technology, ranging from basic theoretical research to applied projects in close collaboration with industry.

Digital information is today used in virtually everywhere; digital radio and TV, the internet, and mobile telephones are just a few examples. The digitalized future society with connected devices and systems will rely even more on a complex interplay of different types of technologies. EIT's activities span large parts of the IT field: from telecommunications and antennas to artificial intelligence, and from fundamental theory via algorithms to implementations on silicon and medical systems.

At EIT, we strive to ensure that our educational and research activities are relevant to, and sought after by, society at large. We therefore engage in several forms of collaboration.

The department’s courses are offered in a number of Engineering programmes as well as international master’s programmes. The range for degree projects is extensive, and several doctoral courses are offered as well. Many of our courses are particularly suitable for international students.
