Tentamen
There will be an examination procedure with 4 parts: approved labs (1), actively paticipate in workshops (2), electronic quiz (3), and written exam (4+5).
Examination for (3) and (4+5) is individual, no cooperation is allowed. You can use all books and notes as help, but no friends. You are not allowed to copy substantial parts from other sources. Small quotations (1-2 sentences) with source explicitly stated are accepted.
Deadlines, given below in timeline, are hard - no exceptions allowed.
Grading is done by weighting results of (3) 20 % and (4) 70 % and (5) 10 %
(plus approved optional lab assignments for grades 4 and 5)
(2) Workshops where you make a presentation of some Internet resource of your own choice. The presentation should be around 10 minutes plus some time for discussion. You work in small groups (2-3 persons). Each person has to speak during the presentation. Participation in the workshops is mandatory, and you should take active part in the discussion. The group have to select a resource and inform me as soon as possible. To make the presentations more enjoyable for us all I will not allow
any duplicate resources. First come will be used for resource assignment. Here are some ideas for resources. Planned workshops 2011:

(3) Online examination quiz in Moodle. Questions will cover course material and lectures.
You get one shot and limited time to complete it.
The quiz will have 17 questions and the time-limit will be 110 minutes.
You will have to correctly answer at least 10 of the questions or you fail the entire course.
Answers can be in either Swedish or English.
Can be taken any time (when it's open) and anywhere (with Internet access).
The course will use moodle for the examination quiz. You must enroll:
- Log in to the moodle system (use your STiL/LUCAT id)
- You are requested to update your profile
- Do that. You will receive a mail with a request to accept the profile
- Accept your profile and continue.
- Enroll to course EITF25
There is a small test quiz (also time limited but several attempts allowed) available that I strongly ask you to try
out in
order to familiarize yourself with the workings of Moodle quizzes.
The test quiz is available from Nov 20 until Dec 13.
Use the 'Submit' or 'Save without submitting'
button often/regularly in order not to loose any answers. It seems that you can reconnect to the quiz if you
somehow becomes disconnected (I haven't been able to verify this for all cases, but it's worth a try in case of
problems).
The 'Submit all and finish' button terminates the entire quiz.
Grading of answers is done manually after the quiz closes.
Questions will be similar to Review Questions in Forouzan (on the book homepage
you can find answers to
some of the questions) or Instuderingsfrågor for Kihl/Andersson
(4) A written take home exam where you
* solve a larger problem. This might require you to use resources
on the Web. Your answer should be a report of 2-4 pages. The target group is an engineering student in the
middle/end
of his education, but who hasn't taken this (or any similar) course.
Report is handed in by sending to a special email address.
Instructions with problem assignment.
(5)
correct a report that another student produced above. Correction report should be handed in by email or placed
in the course box outside the EIT's Course Service Desk room 3152G
