My research interests lie in networked and distributed systems, especially in wireless and mobile networks. I am interested in characterisation and modeling of the basic phenomena that constitute the operational environment for wireless clients to better understand how these networks behave and how they should be constructed to provide reliable and predictable services to users.
In recent years, I have also had a focal point in the wireless adhoc network (VANET) space, where the mariage of vehicular movements and wireless characteristics is highly interesting and challenging.
I am very active in research community service and have organised and chaired many conferences and tracks within conferences such as ACM MSWIM, IEEE ICCCN, ACM MobiWac and IEEE ICON as well as edited issues of journals such as Computer Communications and Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing.
