Research in biomedical signal processing deals with the development of mathematical models and methods for detection, estimation, and characterization of physiological signals. Many applications are found in cardiology (arrhythmias), but applications in dialysis, otoacoustic emissions, and implantable devices are also important. The research has strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity and has lead to several methods for clinical use. The group collaborates closely with major Swedish companies in medical technology with patents as one result. The group has a wide international network including research groups in Spain, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, and USA.
