Leif Sörnmo
received the M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from
Lund University, Lund, Sweden in 1978 and 1984, respectively. He is
presently professor at the Signal processing group in the area of
biomedical signal processing. He held a position at Dept. of Clinical
Physiology, Lund University, from 1983 to 1995. His main research
interests include statistical signal processing and modeling of
biomedical signals. Current research projects include applications in
atrial fibrillation, hemodialysis, high-resolution ECG analysis, power
efficient signal processing in pacemakers, and detection of otoacoustic
emissions. He is, together with Pablo Laguna, the author of Bioelectrical Signal Processing in Cardiac and
Neurological Applications (Elsevier, 2005).
He was on
the editorial board of Computers in Biomedical Research from 1997
to 2000. Since 2001, he is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions
of Biomedical Engineering. He is also on the editorial boards of Journal
of Electrocardiology and Medical and Biological Engineering
& Computing. Since 2008, he is one of the board of directors for
Computing in Cardiology.
