Abstract

In this thesis we decode time and frequency compressed multicarrier modulation signals, which are also known under the name 2-dimensional Mazo signaling. The increase in spectral efficiency compared to conventional OFDM is roughly 40-60%, still the system theoretically achieves the same bit error rate. Previously a reduced complexity deocder based on soft succesive interference cancellation was proposed for this modulation. In this thesis we try to improve the decoder. Our improvements are significant, up to a factor of 50 in decreased bit error rate.
