Abstract
IP telephony has gained considerable momentum in fixed telephony in the last year. IP Telephony (VoIP) is a common consumer service and is also widely spread as a
corporate service. The possibility of merging this technology with the convenience and accessibility of a mobile handset is a strong offering and is part of what is often referred to as fixed-mobile convergence. To make this convergence possible it is important to ensure that handsets can operate with a wide variety of equipment and services. Especially since several parts of the SIP VoIP standard is open to diversity in implementation.
* Evaluate existing SIP VoIP (Voice over IP) including services, servers and consumer equipment.
* Implement handset SIP VoIP communication towards commercial network elements.
