AMS  v3.60 Design Kit & Cadence v5.0.33

The following two commands will initialize and start cadence. Use an empty directory the
first time.

> source ~amslibs/v3.60/ams_setup
> ams_cds -mode fb -tech c35b4

The first command sets up the search path and defines necessary environment variables.
This has to be done in every window from which you are going to run any Cadence tool.

The 'ams_cds' command builds several starup files the first time it is run. These files will
be placed both in your current- and home directory. The parameter to the 'tech' option
initializes the directory to the  selected process. The first time the program is run, a popup
window will appear asking for confirmation of the "exact process option". Make sure that
C35B4C3 is selected and click OK.

The selections will be stored in the setup files and in the future only '-mode fb' is required
as argument. This also means that the directory is locked to the selected process and another
catalog has to be chosen for work with a different technology.

The  Rule sheet  presents the most common rules.

More information about the process can be found among the AMS process documents.

Even more stuff on the    AMS web pages .

Some information on how to run Cadence , slightly old though.

When on the efd-domain

The procedure is a little different when on the machines in the basement or in the Frans G. room.
The startup script is named after the course in question. At present these exists
